The Chardham Yatra is a pilgrimage tour to four holy shrines in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. These shrines include Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.
The standard Chardham Yatra tour lasts for 10 nights and 11 days. However, there are variations of this tour that may be shorter or longer depending on individual preferences.
The best time to go for the Chardham Yatra is from April to June and from September to November. The weather during these months is generally mild and pleasant, making it easier to travel and visit the holy shrines.
Accommodations during the Chardham Yatra can range from basic guesthouses or lodges to luxury hotels, depending on the package you choose. It’s important to note that accommodations in remote areas may be more basic and may have limited facilities.
Pack comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for trekking, warm clothes for cold weather, and a raincoat or umbrella as rainfall is common during the monsoon season. Additionally, bring any necessary medications, insect repellent, and sunscreen.
While the Chardham Yatra is generally safe, traveling with a group or a guide is recommended, especially for solo travelers. It’s important to take precautions such as not traveling alone at night and keeping valuables secure while traveling.
